Factors to Consider Before Buying the Casio Privia PX 350
I have spent a lot of time researching about a new digital piano that suits my need as a professional piano player.
I have been thinking about investing in a more expensive model, but I do not want to just waste money over something that has a lot of extra features that I do not even need.
After hours of research, I finally saw my prospect - the Casio Privia PX-350. But before deciding to finally buy it, I have listed some factors to consider. These might also help you if you are thinking about buying this model.
Portability
This Privia model is lightweight and portable at only 25 pounds. Other brands are packed with so many heavy parts that they can reach to up to 60 pounds or more.
Cost
The Casio Privia PX-350 is cheaper than its Yamaha counterpart - the Yamaha DGX-640 but they have almost the same essential features ideal for professional keyboardists.
Recording capability
The PX-350 can also record tracks - a feature similar to its predecessors, PX-150 and PX-160.
Volume
It has amplified grand piano sounds like a real acoustic piano.
Versatility
This digital piano offers a wide range of rhythms, tones, and other special features.
Connectivity
The PX-350 can connect with computers, laptops, and tablets with its standard USB connection. It is also MIDI capable and can be used for recording purposes.
Product Overview
This model claims to cater to any skill level in piano playing - beginner, intermediate, advanced, or professional. But I think the other models such as the PX150 and PX160 are more appropriate for beginners.
Considering the price and the added features, I do not recommend the PX-350 for beginners. I think they do not need to pay more for the added features.
The PX-350 has 250 built-in tone selections with special emphasis on the grand piano sounds, which are astounding.
The Casio Privia series is perhaps best known for its lightweight body and portability. Coming at only 25 pounds, the PX-350 is so much lighter than its high-end counterparts.
Another similar essential feature it has with its predecessors are the AiR system that works side-by-side with its Damper Resonance simulator. Plus, a Tri-Sensor hammer response scaled in its keybed.

Features and Benefits
Take note of the following essential features and benefits of the These are the essential features and benefits of the Casio Privia PX350:
Tri-Sensor Hammer Action
This feature allows for a more accurate key motion translation. Sound frequency and response are improved so it sounds as if you are playing a real acoustic grand piano at a concert hall.
What makes the hammer action more interesting is the fact that the keys are textured with synthetic ivory and ebony, so it mimics a real acoustic grand.
The three sensors allow for a damper resonance that go along perfectly with the 88 weighted keys.
For me, nothing comes close to this model when it comes to reproducing authentic acoustic piano sound at a fraction of the price of its high-end competitors in the market.
Pure AiR Sound
This Privia model also uses Acoustic and Intelligent Resonator or AiR as a sound source, just like the PX-150 and PX-160. This special feature replicates the sound response in a real acoustic grand.
Casio Privia PX-350 also comes with 250 tone varieties that are categorized according to their style. You can access any of the tones using a user-friendly control interface.
You can choose from among the woodwinds, basses, and strings or pick from various piano sounds: Mellow, Modern, Concert, and Bright tones.
MIDI and USB Connectivity
Aside from the audio outputs for external system that it comes with, it already has a MIDI cable as well as a standard USB connector.
That means, you can use it for recording your tracks or piano pieces. You can also connect to your laptop or tablet to download tracks.
Built-In Recorder
Since the PX-350 is MIDI capable, it can record different tracks that you can playback. Record your piano pieces and experimental tones.
That way, it will be easier for you to recall the next day and add more tones into your masterpiece-in-the-making.
The PX-150 and PX-160 also has this feature, so beginners will still have a good reason to purchase these models.
Again, I do not necessarily encourage beginners to buy the PX-350 because of its price and additional features that may not come in handy for practice.
But if you are an intermediate, an advanced, or a professional player who is considering an upgrade, the PX-350 could be the perfect model for you.
Additional Accessories
This digital piano already comes with various essential accessories including a CS-67 stand, a bench, an Instructional DVD, a manual, SP-33 pedal, and a cleaning cloth.
This can be the most reasonable digital piano purchase you will ever have. It is perfect for home use or for gigs and concert tours.
